About the Narrators
Susan Stone has been producing and directing radio drama and storytelling features for
Pacifica Radio since 1980, and has created audio documentaries for the Modern
Language Association, Australian Broadcast Corporation, the Soros Foundation, and
WDR-Germany. She works inside juvenile halls in northern California as a mediator in
restorative justice programs, bringing youth offenders together with their victims to talk
about the crime, its impact, and how to repair the harm.
Muriel Murch RN.BSN. Published "Journey in the Middle of the Road," in 1995 with Sybil Press. Her short stories and poetry are included in nursing and womens anthologies.
Murch trained as a nurse in England. It is as a nurse that she walks through every aspect of her life; her family, her farm and even the radio.
In 1989 Murch began in the Drama and Literature department of KPFA, Pacifica in Berkeley California. as a reader and a literary host. In 1996 she helped found kwmr.org in Point Reyes, California.
Currently Muriel produces biweekly "Letter From A. Broad." (archived on Bolinas2miles) and monthly "Living with Literature," for KWMR.org.
Erik Bauersfeld is one of the most influential of American radio producers and dramatists.
From 1962 to 1991 he was Director of Drama and Literature for KPFA, producing a wide range of daily readings from world literature, interviews with leading figures in Film, Drama, and the other arts. His voice talents have been used on many IMAX films can also be heard in Stars Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi 1983 and Artificial Intelligence AI 2001.
